Chapter Summaries have been provided for each of the chapters of Developing early literacy: Assessment and teaching. The chapter summaries provide a condensed version and the main goal is to efficiently present the most vital information within the chapter. It gives busy readers a glimpse of what the chapter explores.
In addition to the chapter summaries, study questions have been created for each chapter.
The study questions cover the main ideas in each chapter and highlight the developmental nature of literacy learning, the importance of assessment, and planning teaching based on what each child requires. Some questions require the use of a picture book and in some cases, there is no clear right or wrong answer as the students have to use the book with their own specified age or developmental stage.
